Help WantedCIPS is engaged in a wide variety of activities and initiatives and we need the active participation of our members to make our organization work. The "HELP WANTED" section of the website lists open positions within CIPS. If you are interested in any of the positions listed below, please send an email to help@cipsusa.org. 1) CIPS Treasurer:The treasurer of CIPS is responsible for the management of CIPS finances. The treasurer is formally appointed by the Board and assumes a non-voting position on the board. The current treasurer, Meg Beaudoin, will remain in office to orient the incoming treasurer. 2) Editor for the Website:The editor of the website will assume overall responsibility for running the website, including the development of new material and features, as well as the development of an editorial board and the appointment of section editors to run different sections of the website. The website editor will work in conjunction with the Standing Committee on Website Management (a committee of the CIPS board). 3) CIPS AdministratorThe position of CIPS Administrator is now open. The administrator works with the president to manage all aspects of CIPS activities. The administrator attends all board meetings, and may represent or accompany the president in meetings with CIPS committees and work groups as well as with external organizations. 4) Assistant Editors of ENewsletterThe Enewsletter needs assistant editors and writers to develop materials, to run different sections of the ENewsletter. and to serve on the Enewsletter editorial board. 5) Chairperson of Select Committee on the Candidates JournalCIPS is trying to develop an on-line Candidates Journal and needs a candidate or a graduate analyst to chair an ad-hoc committee to get the journal off the ground. 6) Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Confidentiality of Patient Medical RecordsCIPS is looking for a person to chair this important subcommittee of the Public Policy Committee. The goal of the committee is to develop a strategy for addressing threats to the privacy of medical records posed by government policies and initiatives, especially Health Information Technology legislation currently in Congress and policies of the Department of Health and Human Services.
