The Direct Member Society (DMS)

The Direct Member Society (DMS) is an autonomous professional society, established and hosted by CIPS. The DMS is the organizational "home" of direct members within CIPS. Direct membership in CIPS is open to all members of the IPA not otherwise affiliated with CIPS through membership in a CIPS component society.

All direct members of CIPS are automatically enrolled in the Direct Member Society of CIPS. The DMS functions within CIPS as an independent psychoanalytic society, with the same organizational functions and prerogatives of other member societies. The DMS is governed by its own society board, and is represented on the CIPS board by two representatives, as are each of the other component societies of CIPS.
